De Beren Gieren
De Beren Gieren is perhaps the most adventurous piano trio in the Benelux. Since its formation in 2009, the three musicians have never stood still. The Broensgebuzzes form a common thread in their oeuvre. They now bundle these musical miniatures in their records, to celebrate their 10th anniversary, with ten bits of music about beauty and transience. They let these little stories enter a live dialogue with the enchanting atmosphere and acoustics of a church. For AMOK they do this in the unique setting of the Saint-Jacobs church, which incorporates a wide range of diverse art styles from over ten centuries (ranging from Gothic to Renaissance to Baroque and Rococo). Ten years De Beren Gieren, ten preludes. With a lot of reverberation.
ˈkɑːmos (Kaamos) is the musical baby of the Finnish singer Aino Peltomaa and the adventurous double bass player Nathan Wouters. The name of the duo refers to the period of darkness in Finland when the sun does not rise over the horizon. They connect Finnish mythology and Nathan's compositions in a search for the musical dimensions of light and darkness. Their debut album, recorded earlier this year in the Saint Augustine church in Antwerp, comes to life again in the Saint Jacob's church.
