‘The Rumble in the Jungle’ in concert

This epic fight in 1974, brought boxing legends George Foreman and Muhammad Ali head to head in Kinshasa. More than a boxing match, this was also a promotional stunt of the then-Zairean president Mobutu and celebration of black self-awareness.

Muhammad, with a boxing ring as a stage, is a unique concert experience with elements from jazz and classical, peppered with audio fragments from swirling speeches by Muhammad Ali. Rhythmic, graceful but with striking blows and social awareness. During AMOK we present this concert at a special location, which, just like the boxing camp itself, carries a piece of sporting history: the oldest gymnastics hall in Flanders.
